This year I decided to buy each child a gift instead of a bunch of small junky stuff from the Target dollar bins. Since one gift isn't that exciting, I decided to make a scavenger hunt to find the gift.
First, I wrote each child a note from the Easter bunny. I picked some clip art from online and then customized the style of the font for each child. I've included samples of the one I made for Daughter.
Then I put together the hunt. Since my kids are older I made 12 clues for each child, this took a while. 36 clues was a lot actually, but I didn't want a pile up of kids in any one spot.
I found this egg graphic online and inserted text boxes over each egg in Word. I customized the font to match the one I used in the note and wrote the clues. To help me remember what I was doing I also put each child's name on the clue and numbered them.
After I double checked everything to make sure I hadn't made any mistakes, I printed everything out. I cut out each of the eggs and put them in order. Yep, that is 36 eggs to cut out. I'm thinking I went a bit over board with the number of clues, but what can I do now??
I still need to wrap the gifts and then hide all the egg clues after the kids go to sleep.
I hope it goes as well as I've envisioned! Wish me luck :)
